SWABI: Five people were killed in different incidents here the other day, said the police and rescue officials.

According to details, Umar Khan told Utla police station that he was present with his parents in their home when Siraj Khan, Saeed Rehman, Mujahid Khan, Faridur Rehman and Sabz Ali Khan of Panawal forced their way into their house and started firing at his parents.

As a result, his 60-year-old father Mohammad Jan and 56-year-old mother died on the spot, while his 13-year-old brother Hamid Ali was seriously injured in the firing over an old enmity. He further alleged that the culprits had also abducted his 25-year-old sister at gunpoint.

The dead and injured were taken to Tehsil Topi headquarters hospital by the rescue service.

Police have registered an FIR and started search operation to nab the accused.

Meanwhile, a teenage boy and his sister, drowned in Pehur High Level Canal (PHLC) here the other day, said rescue officials.

A rescue official Luqman Khan said that Hira, 15, and her brother Waseem, 14, visited the house of a relative in Maini village. They went to Pehur canal to take a bath.

The official said being unaware of the depth of water they drowned.

The rescue teams retrieved their dead bodies from the canal and shifted to local hospital.

Meanwhile, during the exchange of fire between the two parties in Jalbai, Abdul Salam died of bullet injuries, while his uncle Hua Khan and Mohammad Imran escaped unhurt.

When contacted, the Tordher police station officials said the reason of the incident was an internal dispute and the accused and victims were blood relatives.
