BAJAUR: A jirga held here on Monday finalised arrangements for the planned July 30 ‘peace march’ and decided to dedicate the rally to those who lost their lives in a suicide bombing that struck a gathering of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl on July 30 last year.

The meeting also decided that no non-local political and religious figure would not be allowed to participate in the rally.

Talking to reporters after the meeting of the organising committee held at the residence of PPP provincial leader Sayed Akhunzada Chatan, Malik Gul Kareem Khan, spokesman of the jirga, said that the planned peace march was dedicated to the 64 innocent people, who lost their lives in the bombing targeting a JUI-F workers’ convention in Khar tehsil.

He said the July 30 bombing was the deadliest attack ever took place in Bajaur.

Mr Kareem said that the participants of the meeting comprised representatives of all political parties, lawmakers and senior elders. He said the peace march would coincide with the first death anniversary of the deadly suicide bombing.
