The conundrum

Published July 23, 2024

GEOPOLITICS, a study of how geography influences politics and power relationships among various countries, plays a significant role in giving final shape to the foreign policy of nation-states. These factors, other than geography, include politics, economics, military, technology and culture. They help nation-states hold up and strengthen their position at regional and global levels.

In Pakistan’s case, despite having a significant geography component as well as a very strong military, the country has failed to master the art of geopolitics. This is primarily because of its internal political instability. Unable to settle the civil-military conundrum, the country has forever faced lack of proper governance.

Today, once again, due to a lack of governance, no single party is able to kickstart the country’s economy. Moreover, amid the ongoing political drama, the citizens of the country have to put up with soaring inflation and unbearable taxes.

All political parties in the country as well as extra-political actors should to collaborate and take some long-awaited measures. Let the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) be the starting point of our journey towards prosperity.
