SUKKUR: A man died when two group of Kanasro community fought with clubs over a dispute over plucking bunches of date from trees in Soho Kanasra village within the jurisdiction of Kotdiji police station, Khairpur district, on Tuesday.

Villagers said that members of Ghulam Fareed Kanasra and Altaf Kanasra groups exchanged hot words over plucking of date and soon, people from both sides attacked each other with clubs leading to death of Ghulam Fareed Kanasra.

The area police said that they rushed to the village after they received information about the incident and shifted the dead body to taluka hospital for post mortem examination. The body was handed over to heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities, said police.

Police said that they had registered a case on a complaint lodged by Rafique Ahmed Kanasra, the victim’s brother, against Altaf Hussain, Raja, Shoaib Kanasra and two unknown persons.
