KARACHI: Ninety-four MPhil and PhD scholars graduated from the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, in 10 months.
ICCBS Director Prof Dr Farzana Shaheen said in a meeting on Wednesday that from Sept 12, 2023 to July 30, 2024, 94 MPhil and PhD scholars graduated from the centre as the ICCBS administration removed unnecessary obstacles and pressure from the working environment, making it scholar-friendly.
ICCBS’s guidelines, rules, and merit were, however, fully adhered to during this period to maintain the standard of education and research, she said and added that quality research productivity of the students had also been enhanced at the centre.
She further informed that out of the 94 scholars (68 MPhil and 26 PhD) that graduated from the centre, 43 MPhil and 16 PhD scholars were from the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, while 25 MPhil and 10 PhD scholars were from Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research.
