TAXILA: The Sir Syed Education Foundation of Pakistan (SSEFP) on Wednesday partnered with the Computer Literacy Shelter Welfare (CLSW) for promotion of computer literacy among underprivileged students, especially in districts Attock and Haripur.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CLSW President Syeda Masooma Zohra and SSEFP Project Director Qazi Zahoorul Haq at the SSEFP head office in Hassanabdal.

SSEFP President Prof Tahir Durrani, Chairman National Peace and Justice Council of Pakistan Mian Abdul Waheed, member board of governor SSEFP Dr Azhar Munir, PPP local leader Sardar Zulfiqar Hayat Khan, notables, educationists, politicians and social workers of the area were present on the occasion.

Speaking on this occasion, Syeda Masooma Zohra emphasised that the collaboration aimed to provide high quality digital education to schoolchildren belonging to various parts of Taxila, Hassanabdal and Haripur. CLSW is working with children and families from marginalised communities in the rural areas to help them reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty, she said.

Qazi Zahoorul Haq said the MOU supported the ‘Better Pakistan Concepts in Terms of Functionality, Monitoring, Regularisation of Admitted Nation Building’ programme launched by the NGO to improve digital skills and computer education among students from rural areas.

He said the MOU would be coordinated with Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza’s ‘Learn and Earn’ programme launched for students in Attock. ‘Learn and Earn’ IT programme has a revolutionary status in the history of Attock, enabling students across the district to pursue economic self-sufficiency through freelancing, graphic design and other related courses, he added.
