LAKKI MARWAT: Three people including a proclaimed offender were killed and another wanted man received bullet injuries when two armed groups clashed over an enmity in Chuharkhel area here on Thursday.

Police said the incident occurred in the area limits of Shahbazkhel police station. Witnesses said that the exchange of fire continued for some time panicking the villagers and forcing them to stay indoors.

Police identified the deceased from one group as Kabeer and his brother Iqbal and said that Ziauddin and his brother Saaduddin were critically injured from the other side.

They said the injured were shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu from Lakki Marwat DHQ hospital, where Saaduddin was pronounced dead.

Police said that injured Ziauddin, who was arrested, and his deceased brother Saaduddin were wanted by the police in murder and attempted murder cases.

They said that they had registered separate cases against the armed men including Shamsuddin, Fawad, Abdul Rauf, Farooq, Mohammad Waseem, Mohammad Khan, Hanifullah and Saifur Rehman from one side and Farid, Datum, Ayyub, Noor Mohammad, Jawad and Naseer from the other group under the relevant sections of law and began investigation.

Separately, a man was shot dead in Nawerkhel area of Lakki Marwat on Thursday. A Rescue 1122 official said that a team along with an ambulance vehicle was sent to the area when the control room received information about a firing incident.

He said a villager identified as Abdul Qayyum was injured in the attack who was shifted to the Government City Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
