QUETTA: An important commander of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) was killed and two others were injured in an operation in the Hoshab area of Kech district in Balochistan, the military said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Hoshab.

During the operation an intense exchange of fire took place between security personnel and terrorists. As a result, BLA commander Ali Jan was killed, while two terrorists were injured.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorist, who was actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area, including kidnapping and target killing of innocent civilians, ISPR added.

“A sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area. Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace and stability in Balochistan.”
