DERA MURAD JAMALI: Two brothers were killed and their three security guards injured when unknown armed men opened fire on their car in Dera Murad Jamali on Thursday.

Police said the victims were younger brothers of Dr Ishaq Bugti, who was also killed by armed men in Dera Murad Jamali a few months ago while traveling in his car.

The deceased, identified as Sabir Ali Bugti and Ibrahim Bugti, were traveling from Quetta to Dera Murad Jamali when they were targeted near Dost Hotel. A senior police officer said the three security guards accompanying the two brothers were also injured in the heavy firing.

Police rushed to the site after receiving information about the incident and shifted the bodies and the injured to the District Hospital in Dera Murad Jamali. Hospital officials confirmed that both brothers received multiple bullet wounds which caused their instant death.

The attackers escaped after killing the two Bugti brothers. Police said the cause of the killing was an old enmity between two groups, as Dr Ishaq Bugti was also gunned down by the armed opponents.

Further investigation is in progress and no arrests have been reported so far.
