KARACHI: Two suspected robbers were shot dead in an alleged encounter on Korangi Causeway, police said.

Speaking at press conference at his office, Karachi police chief Javed Odho said that a Korangi Industrial Area police patrol spotted the suspects who were looting passers-by. They challenged him and during an ensuing exchange of gunfire killed them.

He said the killed suspects were identified as Asghar Ali and Minthar.

He described them as the “most wanted criminals” and said that they were involved in the killing of a Rangers man in Shah Latif Town.

He said that they were notorious for sexually assaulting women during house robberies.

Besides they used to ‘rape’ women during house robberies. They were involved in looting citizens in different parts of the metropolis. They also used to commit robberies by ‘blocking’ roads/streets in various localities.
