HARIPUR/LAKKI MARWAT/DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five persons, including two women and a girl, were killed in firing incidents on Tuesday, the police said.

A woman along with a minor boy was killed and her daughter was injured when three persons opened fire on them in a remote village of Khanpur tehsil, the police said.

The motive behind the double murder was stated to be some dispute over a marriage between the two families.

Makhniyal police quoted the injured, Nimra Bibi, 12, of Hariyala village, as saying they were home when Ehsan, his brother Zaroon and father, Mohammad Akram barged into their home and opened fire.

As a result, she said she along with her mother and a cousin was injured. “We were removed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Khanpur, where the doctors pronounced my mother, Asia Bibi, 38, and cousin, Rehan, 12, as dead.”

In Lakki Marwat, a woman was killed in Serai Naurang town on Tuesday.

Police said an unidentified armed man attacked Rehman Shaheen, 42, when she was going to her house in Purdil Kallay from the residence of her brother, Faizullah Khan. She died on the spot.

Faizullah told the police his family had no enmity with anyone and that he would nominate the killer once he received credible information about him.

Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station, however, registered a case against the unknown killer under relevant sections of law and began investigation.

In Dera Ismail Khan, a man was killed and his brother was abducted by armed men over a dispute in Mandharan Kalan area, a police official said on Tuesday.

The police lodged an FIR against the accused, Ghulam Rabbani alias Munna and others for kidnapping Hameedullah, and later calling his brother there, and also shooting him dead.

The complaint was lodged by Saeed Mukkal, 37, the brother of the kidnapped Hameedullah and the deceased, Mohammad Raanjhu, 39.

The police said the murder and abduction took place after the family of the deceased stopped the accused from grazing their goats in the former’s fields.

Meanwhile, a minor girl died and her mother sustained injuries when unknown assailants opened fire on a vehicle near Kulachi Mor on the Daraban Road.

Imran Baloch, a resident of Qudoosabad Grid Road, lodged a report with the Daraban police, stating that he was going to drop his wife, Ambreen Saba, 30, and two-year-old daughter, Wajeeha Bibi, to the home of his in-laws, when some unknown assailants opened fire at the vehicle from the backside.
