KARACHI: The nation’s top young tennis players converged on the DA Creek Club on Tuesday for the Techstirr Pvt. Ltd. National Juniors Tennis Championship, vying for glory and a chance to shine on the national stage.

In the boys Under-18 category, Aisam Abdul Woddod, Ehsaan Ali, Shamoon Hidayat and Ahsan Ahmed advanced to the next round with convincing wins in the main draw.

Aisam routed Mustafa Chotani 6-1, 6-1, while Ehsaan edged out Faiz Ilyas 2-6, 6-4, 7-6. Shamoon defeated Arham Shehzad 6-1, 6-4 and Ahsan beat Laraib Shamsi 6-2, 6-2.

Ibrahim Qazi from Hyderabad won against Nyel Qazi 6-3, 6-0 and Rayan Ahmed hammered Mohammad Azan 6-1, 6-1.

In the boys under-14 category, Zain Nomi and Ehsaan Ali won their qualifying round matches. In the main draw, Rohan Das registered a flawless 4-0, 4-0 victory against Ashtar Alam and Tariq Rafi downed Mohammad Huzaifa 5-3, 4-2.

In the boys Under-12 category, Zayed Zaman thumped Ibrahim Amir 4-1, 4-1.

The girls Under-14 single matches saw Mariyam Zeeshan, Amal Noman and Romisa Malik recording lop-sided victories to cruise into the next round.

The girls Under-12 fixtures were also one-sided affairs as Eman Teli overwhelmed Miral Mohsin 4-1, 4-1 and Mariym Zeeshan overpowered Hanah Mudassar 4-0, 4-0.

In the doubles category, Laraib and Qazi Ahyan beat the pair of Mustafa and Abdul Baseer 8-2, while Zayd Ali and Ahmed Khursheed recorded a narrow 9-7 victory against the duo of Osama Ali and Arman Ali.
