LAHORE: Incarcerated Bushra Bibi, the wife of jailed PTI founding chairman Imran Khan, on Wednesday approached the Lahore High Court against her arrest in a third case of Toshakhana.

A petition filed through Advocate Sardar Latif Khosa stated that Bushra Bibi and her husband had been granted bail in the Toshakhana case, but they were re-arrested in a new case with a malicious intent.

It highlighted that during the arrest, the female officials assaulted and humiliated the petitioner in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.

She was arrested in the third case without a warrant from the NAB chairman and was imprisoned as an act of political victimisation, the petition added.

The petition asked the court to take action against the jail superintendent and the female officials involved in the assault on the petitioner. It also urged the court to declare her arrest in the third Toshakhana case illegal.

Separately, incarcerated PTI founding chairman Imran Khan also filed a petition in the LHC seeking details of cases registered against him.

Azma’s plea: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelum on Wednesday sought replies from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a petition of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari against her viral edited pictures and videos on social media.

The minister asked the court to take action against PTI’s activist Falak Javed Khan.

The chief justice summoned a report from the FIA cybercrime wing director on Thursday (today).

The petition highlighted that PTI social media activists edited and viral the pictures of the petitioner.

It said under the relevant law, a request was submitted to the FIA for action against the activist and others. However, the FIA had not taken any action so far.

A lawyer for the petitioner requested that the FIA be ordered to take action against the respondents for defaming the provincial minister.
