PESHAWAR/BAJAUR: Jamat-i-Islami (JI) local chapter offered funeral prayers in absentia for senior Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in the provincial capital on Wednesday.

According to JI office bearers, a huge number of JI workers and locals attended the funeral prayers at Bagh-i-Naran in Hayatabad. They further said that JI provincial emir Professor Ibrahim would also be leading funeral prayers in absentia for the martyred Hamas leader at Markaz-i-Islami on Thursday [today].

Moreover, the JI workers, party leaders and local residents offered the funeral prayers in absentia for the martyred Hamas chief at the JI seminary in Inayat Kallay town in Bajaur tribal district.

The funeral prayers for the deceased Hamas leader was held on the directives of JI’s central leadership said a party statement.

According to the statement, the participants paid glowing tributes to the martyred Hamas chief and described his assassination as a great lost to the Muslim world.
