MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has appointed Raja Azhar Iqbal, former Director General of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Public Relations Department, as its regional Additional Secretary of Information.

His primary task will be to disseminate the party’s message to the grassroots level, fostering deeper connections and support.

Expressing his gratitude to the party’s central president, Nawaz Sharif, and regional president, Shah Ghulam Qadir, the newly appointed office bearer, who hails from a prominent political and bureaucratic family in Samahni, Bhimber district, pledged on Monday to fully utilise his experience, expertise, and networks to enhance the party’s popularity across the state.

“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and the trust placed in me by the leadership. I am committed to leveraging my skills and connections to ensure that the PML-N continues to resonate with the people of AJK,” Mr Iqbal stated during a brief interaction with journalists.

He asserted that the PML-N was a formidable political force in the region, one that had consistently met the expectations of the masses.

“The people of Kashmir are eager to see our party form the government singlehandedly in the state,” he added.

Mr Iqbal announced his plans to embark on a statewide tour to propagate the party’s “message of peace, love, and development”. He outlined his vision for a prosperous AJK, highlighting the importance of unity and progress. “Our mission is to build a future where every Kashmiri feels represented and empowered,” he remarked.
