SARGODHA: Two cousins drowned in a pond near Chak 110-SB along Faisalabad Road.

They were identified as 12-year-old Adnan and 10-year-old Kanwar.

They were taking a bath in the pool created by the erosion of the hill when the incident happened in the afternoon. But their family learnt about it when the boys did not return home and started searching for them. Their clothes were found along the pond.

As soon as the incident was reported, SHO Atta Shaheed along with a team reached the spot.

The locals recovered the bodies of the children on a self-help basis after an hour of hard work.

Rescue 1122 said they could not start the search without divers due to the depth of water and stones.

A local man jumped into water despite being stopped by police and succeeded in recovering the bodies.

Both the children were cousins and lived in the same house.
