LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to increase the head money on wanted terrorists as a part of intensified efforts to combat terrorism.

The Punjab Home Department has called a high-level meeting on Monday to decide on the substantial increase in head money for dangerous criminals and terrorists.

A home department spokesman said the increase in bounties had been pending for several years. This move is being planned as a part of a broader strategy to tackle serious crimes and terrorism, emphasising that individuals involved in heinous acts deserved no leniency.

The government has urged citizens to support law enforcement agencies in bringing terrorists and criminals to justice.

“The increased bounties are designed to incentivise public cooperation and assistance in the swift apprehension of these dangerous criminals,” the spokesman added.
