HYDERABAD, March 26: Residents of Umeed Bux Sanjrani and Ali Murad Sangrani villages, Deh Sekhat, Matiari district, have accused former employees of the revenue department of manipulating the revenue record with a view to depriving them of their land.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, Sanjar Khan, Nek Mohammad, Wali Mohammad, Noor Mohammad and Umeed Bux appealed to the district nazim, MPA Jalal Mehmood Shah and the Sindh government to appoint honest revenue officers to investigate the matter.

They said they owned 130 acres of agricultural land in survey numbers 229 and 230 in Deh Sekhat.

They alleged that retired Tapedars Mitho Mehar and Idrees Mehar, retired clerk (revenue) Mohammad Bux Mehar and others had tampered with the revenue record and had released gutter water in their village.

They alleged that their watercourse had been demolished and through fake documents, attempts were being made to expel them from their lands.

They claimed that the former employees had already encroached upon government and private lands.

WORKERS: The dismissed workers of M/s Clariant company have threatened to resort to protest if they were not reinstated in service.

Speaking to reporters at the press club, they said that 30 workers had been sacked without any notice.
