LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Punjab chapter has decided to reorganise the party down to the union council level with a cardinal principle that those who announced leaving the party after May 9, or opposed the party-backed candidates, shall not be re-inducted in its organisational structure.
The party has also decided that no family member or nominee of any part leader shall be accommodated at any level.
PTI Punjab Secretary General Hammad Azhar on Friday notified the instructions, duly authenticated by founder chairman Imran Khan, for the regional organisations. He asserted that the party organisations would operate with complete autonomy.
Saying that with authority comes responsibility, he said the regional organisations would be fully responsible for mobilisation of public in their respective areas. They would be required to complete the organisational structure down to the union councils level by taking all stakeholders into confidence without any favouritism.
Those leaving party after May 9 won’t be allowed re-entry, says Hammad
Mr Azhar stated that it should be understood and announced that these measures and the structures were temporary and would have no bearing on the selection of candidates during the next general elections. The performance of all regional organisations would be vigorously monitored by the leadership and the founding chairman himself, he added.
“Any issues or violations of the above [instructions] that may arise are to be reported to the leadership,” Mr Azhar said.
