RAWALPINDI: Another lady constable from the capital police has been dismissed from service for misconduct, including uploading inappropriate videos on TikTok while in uniform and alleged involvement in immoral activities.

The move came about after SP City Mohammad Arsalan Shahzeb found constable Maryam Bhatti guilty of misconduct and her verbal statement proved unsatisfactory during a personal hearing.

According to the dismissal order, “the lady constable is habitually absent and her attitude towards duty is frivolous. She has a TikTok social media account where she has posted inappropriate videos while wearing an official uniform and she was involved in immoral activities in hotels, cafes, etc in uniform and civil clothes.

“The above state of affairs shows her sheer negligence, inefficiency and lack of professional approach toward discharging her official duty which make her guilty under the relevant rules,” the order read.

Earlier on Wednesday, a lady constable, Musadas Naz, posted at Dolphin Emergency Response Unit (ERU) Islamabad was dismissed from service for using the official motorbike and uniform to post on social media. Superintendent of Police Dolphin and Patrolling Ali Raza awarded her the punishment of “dismissal from service” under Punjab Police Rules 1975.

The SP in his order stated that the video was tagged to senior officers which caused embarrassment and brought a bad name to the department. “Her act was intolerable at any cost and against the norms of the disciplined force,” the SP said.

Directions had been given to all officers and officials to avoid such acts during duty hours. The lady constable failed to comply with the directions and willfully violated the prescribed discipline and rules.

Keeping her act in view, the competent authority has decided to take disciplinary action against her under Punjab police rules and issued a show-cause notice on Tuesday, the SP said. The inquiry against her found her guilty and stern disciplinary action was recommended against her.
