BAHAWALNAGAR: A landlord and his accomplice who were booked on the charge of kidnapping a minor girl for assault on July 13 were charged in another case of gang-raping a woman who was their accomplices in the previous case at Dunga Bunga.

The first information report (FIR) registered with Dunga Bunga police said a landlord of Chak Khatan and his accomplice locked the woman, a resident of the same area, in a room on Aug 1and gang-raped her. The suspects recorded videos of the incident and threatened to post them on social media if she told anyone about the incident.

Police registered the case when the woman reported the matter. It is pertinent to mention here the woman and the duo who allegedly gang-raped her had a case registered against them for abducting a 12-year-old girl for rape.

GUTTED: A fire broke out in a shoe store located in Anarkali Bazar, Fort Abbas due to a short circuit on Saturday night.

The fire engulfed the store within moments. The Rescue 1122 team controlled the fire after hours-long efforts. Goods worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were burnt to ashes.
