TOBA TEK SINGH: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) initiated an inquiry on Monday against former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) provincial minister Bilal Asghar Warraich, his uncle Asghar Nawaz Warraich, cousin Shahid Warraich and personal assistant Sarfraz Hasan.

The investigation pertains to their alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds allocated for development schemes and the contracts for parking fees at the general bus stand and the slaughterhouse.

Mr Hasan provided a written response to officials on Monday, while the others have been summoned for the next hearing.

A close aide of Bilal Warraich claimed that everything was proceeding smoothly until Bilal’s wife was nominated by PTI as a candidate for an MPA reserved seat, after which Bilal began to face victimisation.
