TAXILA: The police on Tuesday foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab and arrested a smuggler.
According to a police spokesman, Attock Khurd police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a narcotics smuggler identified as Hadayt Shah and recovered 10 kilograms of hashish from his possession. The spokesman said that during the preliminary interrogation, Shah confessed to being a member of an interprovincial smuggling network. He was attempting to supply narcotics to different cities.
Police have registered a case under section 9-C of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997 and launched further investigation.
