RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Monday lodged First Information Report (FIR) against officials of two illegal housing schemes at GT Road, Gujar Khan.

The FIR was lodged against team members of Mega City/Iqbal City for illegally advertising through Ms GK Mega City Developers and New Metro City for illegally advertising through Ms BSM Developers.

A spokesperson for the RDA said that it was taking legal actions against illegal advertisements/marketing of illegal housing schemes. He said before lodging FIRs, the authority issues notices to owners of illegal housing schemes to stop their advertisement but they failed to do so.

He said RDA had warned that without getting the requisite NOC, advertising, marketing and development of illegal housing projects was not allowed.

RDA advises general public in their own interest that they should not make any investment in illegal housing schemes. Moreover, the sponsors are also warned to immediately stop the marketing of their unapproved/illegal housing schemes and should contact RDA for getting NOC/approval otherwise strict legal action will be taken against them.

He said RDA had sent letters with request/information to the governor State Bank of Pakistan, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi, FIA Cyber Crime Islamabad, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, SNGPL, district collector, District Council Rawalpindi, Pemra and the commissioner Islamabad about illegal advertisements of private housing schemes on social media.

He said RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza had ordered strict action against illegal housing schemes, constructions and commercial activities.
