LAHORE: Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh will take oath on Saturday (today) as acting chief justice of the Lahore High Court as Chief Justice Aalia Neelum availed ex-Pakistan leave till Aug 25.

Chief Justice Neelum was scheduled to go on a foreign tour on Friday night.

President Asif Ali Zardari appointed Justice Sheikh, being senior most available judge during the summer vacation, to act as chief justice of the LHC from Aug 10 till the period Chief Justice Neelum remains abroad.

Justice Shahid Karim will administer oath to Justice Sheikh at a ceremony to be held in the judges’ lounge at 9am on Saturday (today).
