CHITRAL: The Lower Chitral police have foiled a resident’s attempt to conceal his wife’s murder as a suicide.

Abdullah Khan of Balawusht Ayun reported last week that his wife, Faria Naz, had ended her life by hanging herself from a fan hook in the house, according to SHO of the Ayun police station Bulbul Hassan.

He, however, said the police investigation revealed that the woman was actually tortured to death before her body was strung up on the fan hook.

The SHO said the scope of investigation was widened to the deceased’s in-laws as their statements didn’t support each other.

He said the woman’s husband, Abdullah Khan, finally confessed to torturing her to death with the help of his mother, Hussun Bibi, and brother Ali Haider.

Mr Hassan said they all were held and booked under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
