TOBA TEK SINGH: Eight people were injured when the roofs of a factory and a house collapsed in Faisalabad on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122, the incident occurred at a tissue paper manufacturing factory on Narwala Road, Marzipura, near Haji Camp.

The roof of a hall in the factory fell during construction work. Rescue teams removed the debris and rescued six factory workers, including five women and a man.

The injured were identified as Muhammad Ashraf (70), Noor Fatima (17), Sumera Bibi (27), Sadia Perveen (20), Hira Bibi (29) and Ayesha Rizwan (40). They were taken to Allied Hospital and Ghulam Muhammad Abad General Hospital.

In another incident in Chak 239 RB Haral on Makkuana Road, the roof of a mud house at a brick kiln collapsed, injuring kiln worker Munir Maseeh and his eight-year-old nephew, Yashwa Maseeh. They were shifted to DHQ Hospital for treatment.

FLOUR PRICES: Flour prices in Faisalabad have decreased starting Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh announced that the price of a 20kg bag of flour, previously Rs1,640, will now be Rs1,610.

Similarly, the 10kg bag will be sold at Rs805, down from the previous rate of Rs820.

LAND RECOVERED: Forest, revenue and police departments reclaimed 27 acres of state land valued at over Rs1 billion in Jaranwala, Chak 534 GB.

An official said that the land had been occupied by grabbers for approximately 30 years.

The operation was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Coordination Musawar Ahmad Khan Niazi, Divisional Forest Officer Ansar Rasool and Assistant Commissioner General Dr Abid Mumtaz.

The commissioner has directed that the recovered land be used for tree plantation and announced a competition on August 14 for the maximum number of trees planted in one minute, inviting farmers, students, and members of civil society to participate.
