SUKKUR: Many men, women and children travelling by the Jaffar Express jumped off the train in panic after feeling heavy jerks and hearing rattling sound a little before it arrived at the Jacobabad station on Sunday.

The screaming women heaved a sigh of relief and took their small children into their laps upon being informed by their accompanying men that actually some bogies of the train had derailed but everything otherwise was normal.

The train was on its way from Quetta to Rawalpindi. It was learnt that its three bogies derailed near the station.

The Pakistan Railway officials and technicians rushed to the site and the work to put the bogies back on track was started.

Earlier, the affected bogies were detached from the train, which was allowed to resume its journey.

The passengers of the derailed bogies were accommodated in other coaches of the train. No one was injured in the incident, according to PR officials.
