TOBA TEK SINGH:US Consul General in Lahore Ms. Kristin K. Hawkins visited Faisalabad on Monday and met Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh discuss developmental projects.

The DC briefed her on steps taken by the administration for the resettlement of Christian families whose houses were ransacked in Jaranwala riots last year after alleged desecration of the holy Quran.

The DC said all affected Christians had been handed over their houses after reconstruction or repair while all burnt churches had also been restored.

He said financial assistance was also provided to affected families and their children were admitted to schools after the administration paid their fees, gave them books/ stationery and bags.
