TAXILA: Two bodies, including one of a woman, were recovered in two separate locations in the limits of Hassanabdal police station on Thursday according to police sources.

In the first incident, a severely mutilated body was found from a deserted place near Kohliya village.

Police sources said that some agricultural labourers were passing through the area when they spotted the body and informed the police. The body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Police sources said that the body was beyond recognition.

In another incident, a tortured woman’s corpse was found in Pathargarh area along Islamabad-Peshawar motorway.

Police sources said that a passerby spotted the corpse and informed the police, which moved the body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.

According to the sources, the body was of a woman in her 30s and was subject to severe torture before being strangulated to death. Police sources said that the victim was killed somewhere else and shifted to a separate location in order to conceal the crime. As of the filing of the news report, the victim remains unidentified.

Police registered two separate cases and have launched further investigation.

Minor boy ‘tortured to death’

A woman allegedly tortured to death her stepson in the limits of Wah Saddar police on Thursday.

Police said Saima Bibi reported to the police that she contracted marriage with Naveed Akhter six years ago and had four sons. Few months ago, her husband contracted a second marriage with Seemyia Bibi and evicted her from the house. She said later she got divorce from her husband through a court and her three sons were illegally taken into custody by her former husband.

In the FIR registered on Thursday, she said she received a telephone call from her former in-laws informing her that her two and half years old son Saim Ali had expired suddenly. She rushed to her former husband’s house and found her son’s body with marks of torture with his lips injured with stitches. She said when she started shouting over the alleged killing of her son, her ex-husband along with his second wife fled from the scene. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to tehsil headquarters hospital Taxila for autopsy.

According to doctors, the preliminary autopsy report suggested that the boy had been tortured to death. The police registered a murder case and launched a haunt to arrest the suspects.
