TAXILA: The mutilated body of a five-year-old girl was found along the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) in the limits of Hazro police station on Friday, police and hospital sources said.

The body was spotted by a passerby who informed the police. It was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where the police, quoting health officials, said that the body was severely mutilated and unidentifiable.

A police spokesperson said it had not been established whether the girl was raped before being killed. The spokesperson said the girl was killed elsewhere and her body thrown at the spot to conceal the crime.

This incident marks the third unidentifiable and mutilated body found in Attock district within the last 48 hours.

Previously, two other bodies, including that of a woman, were found in the district and remain unidentified.
