SAHIWAL: The Anti-Terrorism Court, Sahiwal division, has awarded death sentence and Rs500,000 fine to a villager for killing a member of the Ahmadiyya community near Chack Fojianwala.

The court declared another accused innocent. The sentence was announced by Ziaullah Khan, Special Judge, Sahiwal Division ATC, on Saturday.

Deceased Abdul Salam was also a resident of the same village. The judge announced that the fine would be given to the family of the deceased.

Police report said Salam was killed by Hafiz Mulazim Hussain with dagger attacks when he was walking in a village street.

Chuchak police in Okara district registered a murder case against Hafiz Mulazim Hussain and Qari Muhammad Amin, prayer leader of the village mosque. In the light of police report, the judge declared Qari Muhammad Amin innocent and freed him.
