LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has expressed serious reservations regarding the federal government’s policy on the rightsizing of ministries.

Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, a member of the official committee established to address the rightsizing of national institutions and in charge of the People’s Labour Bureau, has rejected the composition of the government’s rightsizing committee.

He stated that only one PPP member and one private member had been nominated to the body, while most of the other members are from the PML-N.

He said the PPP did not accept the government’s rightsizing policy and alleged that the rulers intended to do something else in the name of rightsizing.

He regretted that the members of the rightsizing committee were not invited to meet the prime minister for a direct exchange of views on the policy. He added that the PPP is preparing its report on rightsizing, which will be made public soon.

He demanded that the federal cabinet not approve the rightsizing committee’s report and should wait for the PPP’s account on the subject.
