RAWALPINDI: A group of 28 flight safety officers (FSO) from the College of Aviation Safety (CASM) at PAF Base Nur Khan recently undertook an educational visit to the Islamabad International Airport (IIAP), a spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said.

He said the delegation included 23 officers from the Pakistan armed forces, three from allied states and two directing officers from the Pakistan Air Force.

Chief Operating Officer/Airport Manager (APM) Syed Aftab Gilani welcomed the attendees in the APM conference room, where they received a briefing on the Aerodrome Safety Management System presented by the COO/APM, the Manager Airside (MAS), the environmental compliance officer (ECO), and the deputy management representative (DMR).

This was followed by a question-and-answer session. The group then toured the airside infrastructure and fire station, where they were provided insights into the facilities at IIAP by an officer from the Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS).
