RAWALPINDI: More than 4,000 policemen and 350 traffic police will be deployed in and around Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to ensure foolproof security and smooth flow of traffic for the Pakistan-Bangladesh cricket match.

Police, Elite Force, Rangers and other security agency officials along with sharp shooters on the rooftops of buildings located near the cricket stadium will be deployed. Cricket fans will enter the stadium after a thorough screening through a specific route.

As many as 99 special pickets have been set up in the cricket stadium and its surroundings and the cricket team’s route will be monitored by CCTV cameras. The hotels where the two teams are staying are also under tight security.

City Police Officer(CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani said the best arrangements will be ensured through cooperation with the district administration and other institutions.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday and reviewed the security arrangements for Pakistan-Bangladesh Cricket Series Practice Session.

Mr Alpa was briefed on the practice session where more than 1,700 officers and 350 traffic police personnel performed security duties.
