SARGODHA: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized a tanker carrying milk reported to be harmful for human consumption at Bhera Interchange on Wednesday.

The raid was conducted based on intelligence indicating that a group supplying adulterated milk from Chak Mubarak near Bhalwal had resumed its activities.

The tanker, en route to Islamabad, was stopped by PFA officials at Bhera Interchange, where it was confirmed that the milk was injurious to health.

Up to 2,500 litres of contaminated milk was destroyed and a case was registered at Bhera police station against Azhar Hayat, Khalid Mahmood and Ghulam Raza Shirazi.

The police also took custody of the suspects’ vehicle.

ATTACK: The house of Shafiqur Rehman, the principal of a government school in Bhera, has been repeatedly attacked with stones by a man named Hamid for several days.

Videos of the incidents have gone viral on social media.

Manzoor Ahmed Farooqi, district coordinator of the Muttahida Mahaz Teachers of Sargodha, expressed the teachers community’s concern and demanded immediate action against the perpetrator. He warned if no action was taken, the teachers’ community would launch a campaign at the provincial level.

A petition against the suspect has been filed at Bhera police by Yakub Khan Baloch, Raja Mujahid Ali Khan, Bakhar Khan, Tawfiq Khan, Qasim Ashfaq, Ahmad Anjum, Ghulam Murtaza, Ghulam Hussain Sheikh, Shaukat, and several other citizens.
