ISLAMABAD: A gang of robbers looted cash over Rs6.3 million from an office located a kilometer away from a police station.

According to police, three armed individuals raided the PostEx Company Office (courier service) located in the area of Sihala, overpowering the security guard and snatching his 12-bore gun. They then dragged him into the office, they added.

The culprits held the official staff at gunpoint, gathered them at one corner of the office and stole Rs 6,369,788 from a cash drawer. They placed the cash in a bag and fled the scene, shutting the office’s shutter behind them and discarding the guard’s gun. A case has been registered at the Sihala police station under section 392 of PPC against the unidentified robbers. The police quoted the office staff, who described the robbers as aged between 25 and 40 and speaking in Pothwari.
