SUKKUR: Four members of a family were killed and a young girl related to them was wounded when their speeding car ploughed into a mini-truck (Shehzor) in its front on section-421 of the Sukkur-Multan Motorway along Naon Budh village in Panu Aqil taluka, Sukkur district, on Friday.

The dead bodies later identified as those of Ghulam Yaseen Chhajjan, his son Muhammad Akhtar Chhajjan, Ms Zewar and her 17-yeal-old son Tahir; and her wounded daughter Sonia were retrieved from the badly mangled car by police and a large number of villagers, who had rushed to the accident scene to help the victims.

The bodies and the wounded were brought to the taluka hospital where doctors performed autopsy and provided emergency treatment to the girl.

The bodies were then sent to Rahimyar Khan after completion of post mortem examination.

Police said that they had arrested the mini-truck’s driver and impounded his vehicle.
