KARACHI: In observance of the 100th death anniversary of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, the Irtiqa Institute of Social Sciences hosted a two-day conference — Walking with Lenin —on Saturday.

This first day of the event brought together distinguished scholars and leaders to explore Lenin’s enduring impact on political theory and practice, said a press release issued here.

The programme featured a range of sessions including keynote speeches, panel discussions and reflective talks.

There were three themes that included ‘Lenin’s influence on the political sphere’, the ‘October revolution and Leninism’ and ‘Leninism: Culture and society’.

Bakhshal Thallo, Khurram Ali, Khalid Bhatti, Nasir Mansoor, Dr Tahira and Abid Ali came with their papers on these topics.

Attendees engaged in deep discussions on Lenin’s influence, its relevance in contemporary politics, and its intersections with anticolonial thought.

The conference aimed to provide valuable insights into Lenin’s legacy and its implications for modern socio-political contexts.

The event fostered an intellectual exchange of ideas, offering a platform for scholars to present their research and engage in meaningful dialogues about Lenin’s influence and the future of political strategies.
