ICAP hosts tech conference

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) organised a conference titled “Innovating the Future: Integrating Tech & Governance for Sustainable Economic Growth”, as per a press release.

Chief guest Musadaq Zulqarnain, Chairman of Interloop Limited & Interloop Holdings, highlighted the necessity of integrating technology with governance to foster innovation and drive sustainable growth. He stressed that this integration is vital for creating a prosperous and socially responsible future.

The conference featured a dynamic panel discussion on “Industrial Tech Leap,” with insights from Ahsan Rasheed, Partner at Baker Tilly Mehmood Idrees Qamar; Faizan Irshad, Group Head of Audit Policy, Monitoring, and Quality Assurance at Allied Bank Limited; and Badar Khushnood, Chief Marketing Officer at S4Digital.

Sindh Bank and SEDF Collaboration

Sindh Bank Limited and Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF) have entered into an institutional collaboration agreement in a significant move to enhance economic growth and promote strategic alliances, as per a press release.

The event was attended by M Anwaar Sheikh, President & CEO of Sindh Bank; Khizar Pervaiz, CEO of SEDF; Syed Assad Ali, Senior Executive Vice President and Regional General Manager for Sindh and Balochistan at Sindh Bank; Faisal Mujeeb, CEO of Special Economic Zone Authority; and Kabool Muhammad Khatian, member of SEDF Board of Directors.

On the occasion, Mr Sheikh stated, “We are pleased to collaborate with SEDF for making bank financing affordable and viable for setting up small and medium businesses in Sindh, including Agriculture and IT [information technology] related SMEs, which have been marked as priority sectors at Regulatory level.”

Indus Shakireen Program recognition

Chairman & CEO of Synergy Group, Ahmed Kapadia, presented a commemorative souvenir to Abdul Bari Khan, Founder of Indus Hospital, in recognition of the successful launch of the Indus Shakireen Program, as per a press release.

The Indus Shakireen Program is designed to create a sustainable source of funding through recurring donations. By becoming a member, donors can contribute monthly, helping to provide essential healthcare services to millions of patients annually.

The ceremony took place at the Synergy Group Head Office in Karachi, where Mr Kapadia lauded the efforts of Dr Khan and his team for their commitment towards providing quality healthcare to those in need.

“The Indus Shakireen Program is a testament to the spirit of giving and community support. It embodies the values of gratitude and generosity, which are essential for the sustainability of healthcare services in our country,” said Mr Kapadia.

Faysal Bank and Circle’s Internship

Faysal Bank Limited, in collaboration with Circle, has launched the ‘Faysal Khud Mukhtar internship programme (FKIP)’, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity and women’s empowerment in Pakistan’s workforce, according to a press release.

This partnership between Faysal Bank and Circle represents a significant step towards addressing critical challenges facing women in Pakistan’s workforce, combining financial expertise with technological innovation to create a lasting impact.

This initiative aligns perfectly with Faysal Bank’s focus on Care, Innovation, and Sustainability, underpinned by its intrinsic Islamic ethos.

Sadaffe Abid, CEO of Circle, stated, “Technology and professional skills are the need of the hour, and with Faysal Bank’s collaboration on their FKIP initiative, we look forward to creating a great impact for women and Pakistan.”

Mobilink’s inheritance calculator

Pakistan’s leading digital microfinance bank, Mobilink Bank, has launched an easy-to-use in-app inheritance calculator made accessible through its Dost app, as per a press release. The financial tool is designed to empower individuals, especially women, by providing clear insights into their inheritance share. “We believe that every individual has the right to financial independence and security,” emphasised Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, Interim CEO of Mobilink Bank. “Through this inheritance calculator, we are committed to giving a voice to the women who lack the tools and knowledge to understand their inheritance share and are often denied it.”
