LAKKI MARWAT: A ‘mediator’ was shot dead in Nar Sher Khan Kallay of Serai Naurang town here on Monday.

Police said that Habibullah Shah and his nephew Sanaullah Shah were allegedly attacked by Hameedullah, Shafiullah and Gul when they were returning to the village from fields.

Police said that Habibullah received critical bullet injuries and died instantly.

Sanaullah, who remained unhurt in the firing, told police that his uncle had helped settle an old enmity between the killers and the other party over a murder.

He said that the killers were not happy with the mediator’s decision and they took the extreme step of murdering Habibullah.

Police registered a case against the killers under relevant sections of law and began investigation.
