ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to assist the civic agency in renovating and adding new facilities to one of Islamabad’s parks.

An official of the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) environment wing said the UAE embassy, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has expressed its interest in helping city managers add new facilities to any park in the capital.

The UAE embassy has expressed interest in collaboration with the Islamabad administration to renovate and add more features and facilities to one of the existing parks located in sectors F-6, F-7, F-8 or any other park in Islamabad,” read a letter of the ministry received by CDA a few days ago.

It further said that the CDA is requested to identify a suitable park in Islamabad for renovation and enhancement of facilities and convey it to the ministry at the earliest. It is relevant to note here that the government of Argentina had helped CDA set up the Argentina Park in sector G-6 while the Japanese government had also helped the civic agency in development of the Japanese Park at the foothills of Margallas.

Similarly, Azerbaijan is helping CDA carry out landscaping work in Islamabad on the pattern of Baku. On request of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Azeri government deputed a team of experts, who are currently doing landscaping work in Islamabad.
