LAHORE: Wolves will face Panthers in the opening match of the inaugural Champions One-day Cup being staged at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad from Sept 12 to 29.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday issued the schedule of the five-team tournament.

The PCB is yet to pick the players of the five participating teams — Lions, Dolphins, Stallions, Wolves and Panthers.

The coaching staff comprising 10 members for each squad remains to be announced. Though the PCB has named five mentors for every team — Waqar Younis, Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shoaib Malik and Sarfraz Ahmed, it is still not known who will mentor which team.

The 50-over tournament will be played on a single-league format with the matches to commence at 3pm. There will be three playoffs in four days before the final.

Sept 12: Wolves vs Panthers

Sept 13: Stallions vs Lions

Sept 14: Dolphins vs Panthers

Sept 15: Wolves vs Stallions

Sept 16: Lions vs Panthers

Sept 17: Dolphins vs Wolves

Sept 19: Stallions vs Dolphins

Sept 20: Lions vs Wolves

Sept 21: Panthers vs Stallions

Sept 22: Dolphins vs Lions

Sept 24: Qualifier (Team No. 1 vs Team No. 2)

Sept 25: Eliminator 1 (Team No. 3 vs Team No. 4)

Sept 27: Eliminator 2 (Losing Qualifier vs Eliminator 1 Winner)

Sept 29: Final.
