Johnny Depp has reportedly declined to return as Captain Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 6, even for a staggering $300 million. With Depp’s departure, Disney is on the hunt for a new actor to lead the franchise.

Three top contenders have emerged for the iconic role — Matthew McConaughey, who was considered for the role in the early 2000s, remains a strong candidate due to his charisma and experience. Mads Mikkelsen, known for his versatile acting, could bring a fresh interpretation to the character. Joaquin Phoenix, with his intense performances and Oscar-winning credentials, offers a unique but unconventional option. Disney must decide whether to give Jack Sparrow a new look or steer Pirates of the Caribbean in a different direction without him.
