OKARA: A woman and her two minor sons died, while four other members of the family were injured when the roof of their house caved in at Bombay village, around 10 kilometre from here, because of the persistent rain on Wednesday night.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, seven members of the family were asleep in a room of their their dilapidated house in the village when its roof collapsed at dawn due to the nightlong rain.

On being informed of the incident, a team of rescuers reached the village and started an operation to rescue the family members. The rescuers recovered the bodies of a woman, identified as Iqra (30) and her four-year-old son, while her other son, Saeed (6) was found critically injured.

The minor boy, along with four other injured family members, was shifted to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital, where the child succumbed to his injuries.

The other four members of the family are being treated for their injuries at the DHQ hospital.
