LAKKI MARWAT: The body of a 10-year-old girl, who was swept away by flash floods, was found in a deep ravine under a concrete bolster in the Kurram Par area, rescue officials confirmed.

A Rescue 1122 team reached the Shamoni Khattak area upon receiving information about the incident. The deceased girl, identified as Asima Bibi, was said to be swept away by flash floods. The dead body was handed over to heirs for burial.

The southern district received heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday, triggering flash floods in water courses and inundating urban and rural localities.

Meanwhile, a young man was killed in the Landiwah area over an enmity. Police said that Hamidullah, 22, and his brother Qismatullah, 28, were intercepted by accused Gul Mohammd, Zafrullah and Murad Khan who opened fire, killing Qismatullah instantly.

Hamidullah luckily remained unhurt in the firing, Dadiwala police said, adding that after registration of an FIR, they were busy investigating the crime.
