BAJAUR: The elders of Kohi tribe of Salarzai tehsil here on Friday announced to expel from the area the people found involved in militancy and other anti-social activities.

They made the decision during a jirga held to take solid measures for maintenance of peace in the region in view of the vitiating law and order situation prevailing in the district, according to a statement.

A number of youth also attended the jirga, which unanimously decided to flush the anti-peace elements out of the region.

The elders also resolved to set on fire the houses of those involved in unlawful activities.

The jirga also decided to restrict movement of people after 9pm.

The statement said that the jirga decided to impose heavy fines on those found guilty of committing thefts.

The jirga said no outsider would be allowed to stay in the region during night.
