LOWER DIR: Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF) arranged a scholarship test for poor talented and position holder students in the SSC annual examination 2024 at Timergara the other day.

Hundreds of male and female students participated in the test. The AKF district president Hafeezullah told the journalists that 40 students up to intermediate level would be sponsored in the first phase.

He further said the AKF would provide free residence, food, education and health care facilities to 80 orphan children at the Aghosh Al-Khidmat centre Gulabad.

PANEL ELECTED: The allied panel’s Yousaf Khan was elected as president and Haroonur Rashid as general secretary of the local chapter of All-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Staff Association (AKSSA).

The Subject Specialists (SS) working in the government higher secondary schools in the district exercised their right to vote in six polling stations set up at Timergara, Munda, Samarbagh, Chakdara, Lal Qila and Talash.

The nominees of the allied panel got 245 votes as compared to 142 of the friends’ panel. Dr Ihsanullah was elected as senior vice president and Mukhtiar Ali as finance secretary.

PUBLIC WELFARE: Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) provincial leader Faizullah Khan said that his party was committed to ease miseries of the people and make utmost efforts for their welfare. .

He was talking to local journalists at the Chakdara Press Club. The PML-N district vice president Qaisar Ali, tehsil general secretary Minhaj Khan, Farooq Khan, Imran Khan advocate and other party workers were also in attendance.

Mr Khan said the PML-N had achieved the task of providing electricity to parts of Adenzai tehsil. He said that he would try to get a special package from the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the people of Dir district.
