CHITRAL: Two persons died and four others sustained serious injuries when a jeep veered off the Torkhow Road near Booni and plunged into a deep ravine here on Friday evening.

An official of the Booni police station told Dawn that driver of the vehicle, Tanvir Ahmed of Khot village, and another person, Naveed Ahmed of Rayeen village, died on the spot. He said that four persons, including two women, were injured, who had been admitted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Booni.

The police said that the vehicle was going to Khot from Booni.

They added that the immediate reason of the accident could not be known.
