Pakistan’s pride Arshad Nadeem hit a new milestone with his Olympic record-setting epic 92.97 metre javelin throw, a manifestation of his resilience and perseverance. His amazing achievement earned him pride, honour and love from across the world.

The wholehearted support of the Indus Motor Company (IMC) since 2023 augmented Nadeem’s triumph at the Paris Olympics 2024. To commemorate his win, he was awarded a top-of-the-line Toyota Fortuner GR-S with a personalised number plate — ANO-9297 — making it another souvenir for the Olympian.

Nadeem expressed his gratitude at a ceremony organised by IMC. “I am thankful to Toyota for sponsoring me way before the Paris Olympics 2024 and providing constant support to me. My biggest sponsor is Toyota Pakistan and no matter how much I praise them, it won’t be enough for the support they gave me. I want to thank the team of Toyota Pakistan.

“Just like I made the name of Pakistan proud globally, it also gives me immense pride and happiness to see how Toyota is globally recognised as well,” he said.

“We’re thrilled to have Arshad Nadeem here amongst us. The entire IMC team has turned up to catch a glimpse of their Olympic hero,” IMC Chief Executive Ali Asghar Jamali said. “His Olympic gold win is big news for Pakistan and has taken the country by storm. Every Pakistani is absolutely overjoyed and there’s every reason to be, as what Arshad has achieved is no small feat. Our conviction to provide opportunities to emerging sportsmen has been a pillar of strength for many who have made Pakistan proud.”

He added, “Our Toyota Fortuner is a testament to our belief in the people and we’re trusting it will make a mark on the global front, just like Arshad Nadeem did. The Toyota Fortuner is known for its cutting-edge technology, superior performance, and reliability. This is a fitting reward for an athlete who embodies determination, resilience, and excellence. We wish Arshad the very best for the future.”

Nadeem is not the only athlete backed by the IMC — karate champion Saadi Abbas, table tennis para champion Zainab Barkat, mountaineer Asad Memon for summiting Mount Denali, and boxing champion Shahir Afridi, among others, have all been backed by the company, which is symbolic of its drive to move people and empower them to take on impossible challenges. IMC’s vision to overcome all global challenges and go beyond the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games is commendable.
